Pune, 24th February 2023: The by-election campaign for Kasba constituency witnessed a heated political drama as flags of Congress and NCP were allegedly used to disrupt Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s roadshow. The Shiv Sena-BJP workers were promoting their candidate Hemant Rasane during the rally.

However, former Congress corporator Avinash Bagwe waved Congress flag on the same route as the Chief Minister’s roadshow, and raised slogans including ‘ala re ala 50 khoke ala’ (50 cash boxes arrived). Slogans were also raised against Rasane and Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil.

On the other hand, NCP workers raised their flags during the roadshow in Ghorpade Peth. The incident led to confusion and raised tensions between the Shiv Sena and NCP workers. However, the police intervened and avoided further escalation.

Today being the last day of the campaign, the propaganda was seen in full force on the streets of Pune. The Chief Minister’s roadshow attracted many Shiv Sena-BJP workers, while the Congress and NCP workers used flags to make their presence felt.

The incident highlights the political rivalry between the parties, with each trying to outdo the other in the run-up to the by-election. It remains to be seen how the voters will respond to these tactics on election day on Sunday (February 26).
