Pune: Shreyasi Joshi Creates History with Gold Medal Win at Asian Roller Skating Championships

Jecheon/Pune, 24th July 2025 – In a landmark achievement for Indian roller sports, Shreyasi Joshi has won the Gold Medal in the Classic Slalom event at the 20th Asian Roller Skating Championships, currently being held in Jecheon, South Korea from July 19 to July 30.

This victory marks a historic milestone, as Shreyasi becomes the first Indian skater ever to win gold in the Classic Slalom category at this prestigious international championship. Her outstanding performance brought immense pride to the nation, culminating in an emotional moment as the Indian National Anthem echoed through the venue during the medal ceremony.

Trained under the expert guidance of Coach Ashutosh Jagtap in Pune, Maharashtra, Shreyasi has shown remarkable dedication to both her sport and academics. She is currently in her third year of Computer Engineering at MIT Engineering College, Pune.
