Pune: Silent March Against Attacks On Christian Community, Strict Action Demanded Against Accused

Pune, 14th January 2023: The Christian community in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and rural areas took out a silent march to protest against the attacks on the community members and churches in different parts of the country. A demand was made to take action against the concerned accused.

Father Malcolm Sequeira, Bishop Andrew Rathod, Bishop Chandekar, Pastor Robin Mahadkar, Father Roxy Fernandes, Pastor Fellowship Sangh, all Christian organizations, various parties, Christian sects, and citizens of Pune city were present in large numbers.

Constro Pune

All Christians including Catholics, Protestants, CNI, and Methodists participated in this march. The march was started by reading the Preamble of the Constitution from City Church in Nana Peth. This march was concluded at the District Collector’s office. On this occasion, a letter of demand was given to the Collector on behalf of the Christian community.

Anjali Prakash Ambedkar of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, Chaplain Nikalje, City President of Congress Party Arvind Shinde, Former MLA Mohan Joshi, Spokesperson of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Pradeep Deshmukh, Abhijit More of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), President of Republican Yuva Morcha Rahul Dambale, Former Corporator Ashwini Landge, Bhim Army Regional President Datta Pol, Anjum Inamdar of Mulniwasi Muslim Manch, Morcha Coordinator Prashant Kedari, and others were present on the occasion.
