Pune: Six persons arrested for assaulting medical team who went to take samples for COVID test

Pune, 31 July 2020: A medical officer and his team from Ordnance Factory Hospital Khadki were attacked when they went to take swab samples of a COVID positive patient. The incident took place on Wednesday at around 10.30 am in Range Hills quarters.
After an FIR was registered, Khadki police station arrested all the six people including three women. They have charged for various offences under the Indian Penal Code.
In his complaint, the medical officer stated that the assailants hurled abuses at him and his team when they arrived in the area. When they tried to leave, the suspects attacked them, the complaint stated.
