Pune: Six PMC Engineers Under Scrutiny for Allegedly Using Fake Disability Certificates
Pune, 10th September 2024: Following the case of former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Puja Khedkar, which gained national attention, similar cases have emerged. Six engineers from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) are suspected by the Commissionerate for Persons with Disabilities of having obtained fake disability certificates.
After receiving complaints about these six officers, the Commissionerate reviewed their documents. As suspicions grew, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Praveen Puri wrote to PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, requesting a medical examination of the engineers. However, despite a month having passed since the letter was sent, the PMC has not yet conducted the medical examinations.
