Indapur, 27th February 2026: Three people died and three others injured in a road accident near Dalaj in Bhigwan on the Pune–Solapur Highway on Thursday evening. The accident occurred around 5 pm.

The deceased have been identified as Aditi Amar Hatekar (25), her two-year-old son Jai, both residents of Sangola, and Sakhubai Ishwar Gezge (60), also from Sangola.

Those injured include the car driver Kabirdas Ishwar Gezge (50), Swati Kabirdas Gezge (34), a resident of Patas, and 10-month-old Samruddhi Kabirdas Gezge, also from Patas.

According to police, the car was heading towards Pune when it rammed into a tempo that had been parked on the roadside due to a tyre puncture. The tempo was stationary on a bridge along the highway. The stretch from Solapur towards Pune before the bridge has a steep downhill slope, where vehicles often travel at high speed.

Police said the car hit the tempo from behind, leaving the vehicle completely mangled. Three occupants died on the spot, while the injured were rushed to a hospital in Bhigwan for treatment.

Highway police and Bhigwan police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident. Traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time following the mishap. Assistant Police Inspector Vinod Mahangade is conducting further investigation.
