Pune, 26th April 2022: During his visit to Karve road, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Chandrakant Patil instructed the authorities to clear the metro construction materials on the road and synchronise the signals. He also instructed them to maintain the footpaths and to remove the PMPML bus stops which are causing traffic jams on the road.

After the construction of the Pune Metro and the flyover on Karve road, the width of the road has decreased. Although a double-decker flyover has been constructed at Nalstop Chowk to clear the traffic congestion and for the Metro line, the Karve road under the double-decker flyover has become narrow, causing traffic jams from Nalstop to SNDT College.  The traffic has been disrupted under the bridge, forcing motorists to make their way through the congestion.

There is a PMPML bus stop between Nalstop Chowk and SNDT College. There is always a traffic jam after every 2-3 buses stop in a row.  Many citizens are complaining about it.

Taking cognizance of the complaints, BJP MLA Chandrakant Patil from Kothrud constituency visited the road recently.

Patil Said,”In a long-term solution, citizens will be relieved of traffic congestion after the Balbharati-Paud road is constructed. We are in constant touch with the administration to complete this work expeditiously, but till then the citizens should not have to face traffic congestion and many measures have been suggested.

Former Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, BJP City Spokesperson Sandeep Khardekar, Former Corporator Manjushree Khardekar, Madhuri Sahastrabuddhe, Srinivas Bonala of Transport Project Department, Gautam Birhade of Pune Metro, Abhijeet Dombe of road department, Traffic Police Inspector Jairam Paygude, Omprakash Ranka of Karve Road Traders Association, Raju Bhatevara, Dushyant Mohol of BJP Yuva Morcha were also present on the occasion.
