Pune: Speeding Car Hits Two Bikers In Kondhwa; Driver Arrested
Kondhwa, 11th December 2024: A speeding four-wheeler rammed into two two-wheeler riders at Khadi Machine Chowk in Kondhwa on Tuesday (10th December) night around 10 pm, leaving both riders with minor injuries.
The Kondhwa police have arrested the driver, identified as Santosh Gupta, a motor mechanic. According to Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar, Gupta was driving recklessly when the incident occurred. The bikers sustained injuries to their hands but escaped serious harm.
Gupta, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, was apprehended by locals at the scene after his car’s tire burst. Before handing him over to the police, the enraged crowd beaten him. Gupta was later taken to Sassoon Hospital for a medical examination.
The police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations.
