Pune: Speeding Car Overturns Near Narhe, Claims One Life, Injures Seven

Narhe, 14th January 2025: A young woman died after a speeding car overturned in Narhe on the Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass Section of the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway. Seven people in the car were injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital, according to police.
The deceased has been identified as Vijaya Bajirao Padwal (29 years old, resident of Ambegaon Tehsil, Pune). The injured individuals are Pawan Kahate, Vijay Ambekar, Sachin Manjabapu, Gayatri Mohite, Supriya Lad, and Sandeep Marathe.
A case has been registered against the driver, Prasad Dilip Dhole (25 years old, resident of Khed Tehsil, Pune), for causing the accident due to speeding. Dhole was also injured in the accident.
Police Constable Prashant Chate filed a complaint regarding the incident at the Sinhagad Road Police Station. According to the police report, the accident occurred around 12:30 AM yesterday when the speeding car was exiting the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass. The vehicle lost control near the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple of Narhe area and overturned, resulting in serious injuries to all occupants.
Upon receiving information about the accident, police rushed to the scene. The injured were immediately admitted to a private hospital, where Vijaya Padwal succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Police Sub-Inspector Akshay Patil is currently investigating the case.
