Pune: Sportify Running Group Organises Dhanori To Jejuri Relay Race

Pune, 20th October 2022: In 2021, the Dhanori to Sinhagad relay race of 42 km was completed in just 3 hours and 43 minutes. This year, Sportify Running Group organised the Dhanori to Jejuri relay race.
There were 25 runners in this race, and the distance of 55 km was completed in 5 hours and 7 minutes. The route of this relay race was Dhanori-Lohegaon-Pune Airport-Kalyani Nagar-Magarpatta-Hadapsar-Phursungi-Dive Ghat-Saswad-Jejuri.
The relay race from Dhanori to Jejuri began at Dhanori at 4 am by the Team Sportify Coach Vijay Bansod by showing the green flag. The final leg concluded at 9:07 am in Jejuri with the darshan of Khanderaya. Multiple women were present in the race.
Ankit Singh, Ashish Pathade, Akash Holkar, Deepak Jadhav, Hitesh Siroya, Kiran More, Kiran Shinde, Kunal Upadhyay, Lakshmi Erramasu, Mangesh Thorat, Mrinalini Prasad, Pradeep Raut, Pragya Ingle, Prashant Bhavsar, Pushpa Mishra, Sadhana Singh, Sagar Shah, Sandeep Panwar, Sandeep Patil, Shweta Kheraj, Smita Thorat, Shrikant Nula, Tushar Raut, Vaibhav Nehe, and Vijay Bansod participated in this relay race.
Six support cars were deployed along the route to assist the runners. The relay race was planned and guided by Vijay Bansod, coach of the Sportify team. Dive Ghat was the most important stage in this run, as there is a 300-meter climb in this four km distance, where it was tiring to walk but participants ran strongly.
Sportify was founded in 2017 at Dhanori, Pune, to spread awareness about running and fitness. In the last five years, the group has given free training to hundreds of people in Dhanori, Lohgaon, Vishrantwadi, and Tingre Nagar. Also, the group conducts various sports programs throughout the year and focuses on making fitness interesting.
