Pune, October 11, 2020: In an action taken by the state excise department, 23 beer bar and wine shop operators have been found violating the rules as well as social distancing guidelines. A list of concerned bar and wine shop operators will be sent to the District Collector to take action against these bar operators.
Since October 5, the hotels, bars, food malls and restaurants have been allowed to open in the district. The district administration issued guidelines on October 7 to ensure that the spread of the novel Coronavirus will be in control after granting the permission to reopen. The beer bar should have a 50 percent customer limit, social distancing, use of masks, use of sanitizer, thermal guns to check temperature and hygiene. But the action of the state excise department has shown that the owners of bars and wine shops are not following social distancing and other rules. In Urban and Rural areas, action has been taken against 21 beer bars, a local liquor store and a wine shop.
Hotel and bar operators should strictly follow the rules to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. The administration has started to take action against rules violators. For the 1st violation Rs 10,000 will be fined, for 2nd violation Rs 25,000, for 3rd violation Rs 50,000 and after this, the license will get cancelled.
