Pune, February 17, 2021: The Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the process of entrance examination for the diploma course.

C-DAC has decided to conduct a re-examination in offline mode (earlier online examination was held and the result has been also declared), citing technical difficulties. But about 40 students protested against the re-examination in front of the C-DAC office on Tuesday.

C-DAC offers diploma courses for engineering graduates. Students from all over the country take the entrance test for this course. However, due to the outbreak of Corona, it was decided to conduct the entrance exam for the class of March 2021 online and in a proctored manner. The exam was to be held on January 10 and 17. Due to technical difficulties during the examination on January 10, the examination was cancelled and students were asked to appear for the examination on January 17.

Even on January 17, some students had problems. Therefore, it was announced to take the exam on 31st January. Some of the students who had difficulty in the January 31 exam again appeared for the exam on February 3. The result of the examination was then announced. But now C-DAC has announced that the entire examination process has been cancelled and the re-examination has been announced.

Many students have quit their jobs for C-DAC exams. Therefore, C-DAC’s decision to reconsider is unjust. Corona has already delayed this exam. The course schedule is broken. So two-three months have been wasted. C-DAC should re-examine the concerned students who have encountered technical difficulties in the examination. It is unfair to re-examine all students, the candidates said.

Aditya Sinha, Chairman, Educational Management Committee, C-DAC, said that due to the prevalence of corona, it was decided to take the online entrance exam in a proctored manner. After the examination, many complaints were received from the students. Internet connection, technical difficulties encountered during the exam were mentioned by the students in the complaint. Therefore, re-examination will be conducted to give equal opportunity to all the students and to maintain the quality of the examination. Exam dates will be announced in the next two to three days. Students will be notified through email and SMS. The syllabus and pattern for the exam will be the same as announced earlier.
