Pune, 22nd February 2024: “The demand for Sunetra Pawar to contest from the Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency is emanating from the constituency itself. The public and party workers have been demanding her candidature for Baramati Loksabha”, stated NCP State President Sunil Tatkare during a meeting of the Pune City NCP (Ajit Pawar) party yesterday.
Speaking to reporters after the review meeting of the Pune city NCP, MP Tatkare mentioned that in the coalition, seats will be sought by assessing the current situation, party strength, and capability across various Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra. He emphasized that it’s noteworthy that the Baramati constituency has been held by the NCP for many years, hence NCP (AP) will demand for this seat for NCP’s candidate to contest the election under the Grand Alliance or ‘Maha Yuti’.
The official announcement of the candidate for the Baramati Lok Sabha will be made after the finalization of seat allocation in the Maha-Yuti. Responding to the media’s query about MP Supriya Sule’s comments about the candidature of Sunetra Pawar, Tatkare highlighted that when MP Supriya Sule contested her first election, she too lacked experience. There is always a first time for everyone in politics.
In the recent past, an MP from Baramati, Supriya Sule, challenged Sunetra Pawar to have a debate on any topic at any venue. Sunetra Pawar is wife of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and the sister-in-law of Supriya Sule.
