Pune: Symbiosis to Host Relations Conference titled: India’s Strategic Culture- Addressing Global & Regional Challenges

Pune, 23rd November 2023: Symbiosis School of International Studies (SSIS), Symbiosis International (Deemed University) is organizing the International Relations Conference titled: India’s Strategic Culture- Addressing Global & Regional Challenges. The Conference will be held on 25th and 26th November 2023 at Symbiosis International University Campus, Lavale, Pune.

The Inaugural Ceremony and Keynote Address will take place on Saturday, 25th November 2023 at 11:00 am. The Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker for the Ceremony will be Dr. S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, Government of India. Prof. (Dr.) S.B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will preside over the function.

This conference seeks to deliberate on the key viewpoints on India’s Strategic Thought and its impact on policy responses to global and regional challenges through a non-Western lens. The conference will have presentations by eminent practitioners and academics, followed by robust discussions involving peers and students of international studies and other faculties from schools in Pune and other parts of India. The results of these interactions will yield a publication that will showcase new approaches to understanding India’s strategic thought as the bedrock of India’s foreign policy.

Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Mr. Raghuram S., Joint Secretary ( Policy Planning & Research ), Ministry of External Affairs and Prof. Shivali Lawale, Director Symbiosis School of International Studies will be the other distinguished dignitaries present for the function.
