Pune: Team Manyavar and Team Aquarius take lead at Ashok Ruia Memorial Winter National Bridge Tournament

Pune, 10th December 2024: Team Manyavar and Team Aquarius have taken the lead in the Team Event of the Ashok Ruia Memorial Winter National Bridge Tournament, organized by the Pune Region Bridge Association and sanctioned by the Bridge Federation of India (BFI) and the Maharashtra Bridge Association (MBA).

The tournament, being held at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune, has seen intense competition in the Team Event.

Team Manyavar, comprising Anil Padhye, Anand Samant, Sundaram Sridhar, Jitu Solanki, and Rajesh Dalal, has secured the top spot after four rounds with a strong score of 59.63 points.

Team Aquarius follows closely in second place with 57.20 points, while Dhampur Sugar Mills is in third position with 55.38 points.

The tournament is being played in a Swiss League format, with a total of seven rounds. The remaining three rounds will be played tomorrow. The winning team will directly qualify for the trials for the Indian team selection for the World Championships.
In the Mixed Pairs Event, 83 pairs are competing. Kamna Sharma and Piyush Baroi have taken the lead after the initial rounds. The remaining rounds of this event will also be played tomorrow.
