Pune: Teenager Strangles Mother To Death Over Mobile Phone Interruption

Loni Kalbhor, 17th February 2023: On 15th February 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Mauli Krupa building in Uruli Kanchan, where a boy studying in class 12 strangled his mother to death.
According to the police, 18-year-old Zeeshan Jameer Sheikh, was using his mobile phone while studying when his mother, Taslim Jameer Sheikh, reprimanded him. This made Zeeshan angry, and he strangled his mother, causing her death.
The incident was reported to the Lonikalbhor police, who arrested Zeeshan Jameer Sheikh, a resident of Uruli Kanchan. The police sub-inspector, Amol Laxmanrao Ghodke, filed a complaint at the Loni Kalbhor police station, Pune city police. At first, the police received information that Taslim Sheikh had committed suicide by hanging herself. However, the autopsy revealed that she had died due to strangulation and head injuries.
Senior Police Inspector Dattatray Chavan said that after the doctors’ report, the police conducted an inquiry. Initially, the police registered a case of murder against an unknown person as no one was ready to provide information. However, after further investigation, it was found that the mother’s son, Zeeshan, had committed the crime.
The incident occurred when the father, Jameer Sheikh, had gone to pray Namaz, and the younger daughter was out. Zeeshan was studying, but he was also using his mobile phone. When Taslim saw him using his phone while studying, she got angry and slapped him. This caused Zeeshan to become enraged and push his mother against the wall, strangle her, and cause her death.
Zeeshan became scared after committing the crime and cut his mother’s wrist with a blade, although no blood came out since she was already dead. He then attached a wire to the fan and placed his mother’s body on the floor. When Jameer Sheikh returned home, Zeeshan told him that Taslim had hanged herself, and they took her to the hospital. However, the doctor at the hospital became suspicious and asked for an autopsy, which revealed the manner of murder.
As no one in the family was willing to file a complaint, the police registered a case on behalf of the police and arrested Zeeshan. The police inspector, Kale, is currently investigating the case.
