Pune: Temporary Road Closures In Kasba Peth For Mahashivratri, Check Alternate Routes

Kasba Peth, 26th February 2025: Traffic restrictions will be in place today from 6 pm to midnight in Kasba Peth due to Mahashivratri celebrations at the Punyeshwar Temple. The roads near the temple, including Agarwal Talim Road, will be closed to traffic during this period. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende has urged commuters to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.
Several religious events are scheduled to take place in the temple area after 6 pm, necessitating traffic diversions. Vehicles traveling from Kumbharves Chowk to Phadke Haud Chowk should take the alternative route via Gadgil Putla Chowk and Jijamata Chowk. Similarly, vehicles moving from Surya Hospital to Pawale Chowk via Agarwal Talim Road should reroute through Jijamata Chowk and Ganesh Road.
For those commuting from Phadke Haud Chowk to Kumbharves Chowk, the advised route is via Ganesh Road, Futka Buruj, and Gadgil Putla Chowk. Additionally, vehicles traveling from Kamala Nehru Hospital in Mangalwar Peth to Surya Hospital should proceed via Daruwala Bridge, Phadke Haud, Jijamata Chowk, Futka Buruj, Shaniwarwada, and Gadgil Chowk.
Authorities have urged commuters to plan their routes accordingly and cooperate with traffic arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles during the festival celebrations.
