Shirur, 27th April 2024: After filing his nomination for the Shirur Lok Sabha seat in Pune, Mahayuti candidate Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil held a campaign in Junnar. NCP MLA Atul Benake, former Pune Zilla Parishad member Aasha Buchake, Pandurang Pawar, and Santosh Khaire were present at the campaign. Following the campaign, a meeting was held where some jabs were taken at the opposition.

Adhalrao Patil remarked, “During elections, the focus should be on development, but the opposition seems more concerned with criticizing others. Sitting MP Dr Amol Kolhe refuses to visit his constituency. They forget that it’s the people of the constituency who elected them as MPs and sent them to Delhi. In Junnar taluka, development exists only on paper. I aim to bring it to fruition. Even tourism can bring funds to this taluka.”

MLA Benake added, “Sitting MP Dr Kolhe shows no concern for the citizens. When we elect a person, they should care about us.” Buchake stated, “Last time, we elected a ‘Natrang’. The constituency is our home, and we have no option but to entrust it to Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil.”

These comments were made by Mahayuti in response to recent criticism from Mahavikas Aghadi’s Shirur candidate, Dr. Amol Kolhe. In a party workers’ meeting of Mahavikas Aghadi in Bhosari, sitting MP Dr Kolhe mentioned, “CM Eknath Shinde did not attend Adhalrao Patil’s nomination filing. I am justified in calling him a ‘dummy’ candidate. The Chief Minister didn’t attend, the 2nd Deputy CM refused to hold a meeting. The “CM from Nagpur” said he would only participate in the roadshow and leave. It’s evident that Adhalrao Patil is indeed a dummy candidate.”
