Pune: Thieves Steal Rs 1.52 Lakh Worth of US Dollars, Daylight Heist in Sadashiv Peth
Sadashiv Peth, 24th November 2024: In a bold daylight burglary, thieves broke into a flat in Sadashiv Peth and stole $1,800, valued at ₹1,51,985 in Indian currency. The incident occurred on November 18 at Siddhi Housing Society.
The complainant, an elderly woman, filed a report at the Vishrambaug police station. According to her statement, she and her husband left their flat around 12 p.m. to pick up their granddaughter from school. Upon returning home around 1 p.m., they discovered that the flat’s locks had been broken. The thieves had targeted a cupboard in the bedroom where the US dollars were stored.
Senior Police Inspector Vijaymala Pawar visited the crime scene shortly after the incident was reported. Police Sub-Inspector Ganesh Fartade is currently leading the investigation.
