Pune, 5th September 2023: Narhe village witnessed a spree of break-ins, as thieves forcibly entered ten flats across three societies – Anuj Vihar, Matri Chhaya, and Siddhi Angan – situated in proximity to the Tuljabhavani temple. The audacious burglaries occurred between two and half past two on Sunday morning, leaving the local residents in a state of shock.

Several of the culprits arrived in four-wheelers, with one thief even making off with a newly acquired motor from Matri Chhaya Society.

However, faced with a roadblock near Navale bridge during the night, the thief abandoned the motor on the roadway and fled in their four-wheeler. All the targeted flats were securely locked at the time of the incidents.

A more precise account of the stolen items will be available once the residents return to their respective flats. The thieves displayed a calculated approach by sealing the doors of adjacent flats from the outside and tampering with the CCTV cameras to obscure their activities. In addition to cash and jewelry, items such as mobile chargers and electric grills were also reported missing.

Currently, only one tenant, identified as Mayur Devram Pawar, has filed an official complaint. Pawar reported losses amounting to Rs 2 lakh 96 thousand, including gold jewelry, a watch, and a newly acquired car key.

It is anticipated that the other flat owners will follow suit by filing their complaints in the coming days. Police sub-inspector Ashok Sanas from the Sinhagad police station, Pune City Police, is spearheading the ongoing investigation into these incidents.
