Pune: Three Drown In Bhima River In Daund, Bodies Recovered
Pune 9th Oct 2023: In a tragic incident reported on Saturday, three students who had gone to swim in the Bhima River at Halvalan in Daund dronwned. The incident came to light after the other three children who had also gone with the deceased noticed it and called for help.
According to officials, the children of labourer and their cousins had gone to swim in the river at around 12 pm on Saturday. Three of them suddenly started drowning and later swept away in the river. The local police and other rescue teams were immidiately rushed to the spot for help but only one of then could be found on Saturday after conducting a long search operation.
The officials continued the search on Sunday and the bodies of remaining two children were also recovered at a distance from the incident site in the river. The police team of Yawat Police Station was rushed to the spot and they have registered an accidental death report in the matter.
