Pune: Three Minors Attack Youth With Sickle Over Social Media Status
Talegaon Dabhade, 22nd October 2026: A young man was seriously injured after three minors allegedly attacked him with a sickle at a clothing store in Talegaon Dabhade on Tuesday. The attack was reportedly triggered by a social media status posted by the victim about the release of two of his minor relatives from a juvenile observation home in connection with a murder case.
The injured youth lodged a complaint at the Talegaon Dabhade police station, Pimpri Chinchwad Police, following which a case was registered against the three minors.
According to the police, eight people allegedly attacked and killed a youth with sickles in August over an old dispute. Two minor relatives of the complainant were among those accused in the murder case. They were taken into custody by the police and sent to a juvenile observation home.
The two minors were released from the observation home on October 19. Subsequently, the complainant posted a social media status about their release, which allegedly angered the three accused.
On Tuesday, the three minors allegedly arrived at the clothing store where the complainant was working. One of them said he wanted to buy a pair of trousers. When the complainant turned around to show him the trousers, the trio allegedly attacked him with a sickle, leaving him seriously injured.
The victim is undergoing treatment at a hospital. The Talegaon Dabhade police are investigating the case.
