Pune, 28th December 2024: The railway administration will be adding four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Pune, increasing the total number of such trains from the city to six. The move is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and provide faster and more comfortable travel options for Punekars.

Currently, Pune is served by two Vande Bharat Express trains, operating on the Pune-Hubli, Pune-Kolhapur, and Mumbai-Solapur via Pune routes. With the introduction of four new trains, travel time to several other destinations will be reduced, offering added convenience to passengers.

The newly announced routes for the Vande Bharat Express trains are Pune-Shegaon, Pune-Vadodara, Pune-Secunderabad, and Pune-Belagavi. These services are expected to commence soon, although the exact start dates are yet to be disclosed. The decision aims to make rail travel smoother and more efficient for residents and visitors.

The ticket prices for the existing Vande Bharat Express trains vary based on the route and coach type. For instance, a ticket on the Pune-Kolhapur route costs ₹560 for a standard seat and ₹1,135 for a special coach. This train operates three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Meanwhile, tickets for the Pune-Hubli route are priced at ₹1,530 for standard seating and ₹2,780 for the special coach.
