Pune to say ‘I will go out’ on January 21
Pune – #IWillGoOut is a women’s movement to reclaim women’s right to exist in public spaces without the fear of sexual harassment and assault.
The movement is a response to molestation and sexual assault on women on New Year’s Eve in Bangalore.
Women will be marching in 20 cities and towns in India because they believe that what a woman wears, who she steps out with or what time of the day she steps out at, is never an invitation for sexual harassment.
The event will take place at 5 pm on January 21. The venue will be announced shortly. Men who are the strongest allies of women, are also welcome at the event.
