Wakdewadi, 23rd December 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), in collaboration with the traffic police department, is set to implement vehicular diversions at a railway subway in Wakdewadi, connecting Sakhar Sankul Road to Old Mumbai-Pune Road. The diversions aim to facilitate essential repairs at the subway, encompassing resurfacing and tarring work.

Effective immediately, vehicles originating from Khadki and MSRTC Wakdewadi depot will be rerouted, unable to utilize the subway for access to Sakhar Sankul and Shivajinagar. Instead, they will be directed to travel via the CoEP flyover. Traffic police have clarified that the movement of vehicles from Sakhar Sankul towards Khadki and Patil Estate will remain unrestricted, with efforts made to minimize inconvenience to road users.

Two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and cars will be permitted through the subway, while larger vehicles such as buses and tempos are restricted due to height limitations. The diversions are slated to be in effect for four days, contingent upon the progress of the repair work. The authorities are working on a plan to ensure minimal disruption for road users during this period.
