Pune: Traffic Diversion Due To Ganesh Jayanti On Monday, February 15

Pune, February 14, 2021: On the occasion of Shri Ganesh Jayanti, on Monday (15 February) there is a possibility of a crowd of devotees at Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir and other Ganpati temples in Shivaji Road area in central Pune.

Therefore, the police have closed Shivaji Road on Monday anticipating a large number of devotees. People will have to use an alternative route to reach their destinations.

  • Drivers heading towards Swargate from Shivaji Road should go from SG Barve Chowk (Modern Cafe) via Jangli Maharaj Road to Deccan, Tilak Road towards Swargate
  • Drivers heading towards Mahapalika Bhavan (PMC Building) from SG Barve Chowk should go through Jhansi Rani Chowk on Jangli Maharaj Road.
  • The road from Appa Balwant Chowk to Hutatma Chowk (Budhwar Chowk) will also be closed for traffic. Drivers should go to the desired place via Bajirao Road.
  • Drivers going to Swargate from Laxmi Road should turn from Hamje Khan Chowk and go to Swargate via Kasturi Chowk.

  • Drivers going from Laxmi Road to Tilak Chowk (Alka Talkies) should turn right from Sonya Maruti Chowk to Phadke Haud Chowk, Jijamata Chowk, Futka Buruj, Jhansi Rani Laxmibai Chowk, PMC building.
  • If the traffic congestion on Bajirao Road towards Municipal Corporation increases, it will be diverted from Pooram Chowk on Tilak Road. Drivers will go to Khandoji Baba Chowk on Tilak Road.

Taking note of the change in traffic, drivers should follow the instructions given by the police and use the alternative route, appealed Rahul Shrirame, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch.
