Pune: Traffic Diversions Announced Ahead of Pune Grand Challenge Long-Distance Cycling Event 2026
Pune, 21st November 2025: Anticipating the Pune Grand Challenge Long-Distance Cycling Competition 2026, District Collector and District Magistrate Jitendra Dudi has issued traffic diversion orders to facilitate ongoing road asphalting work and ensure participant safety. The measures have been implemented under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the Home Department notification dated 19 May 1990.
The restrictions will apply from 20 November to 2 December 2025, daily between 8 am and 9 pm, on stretches where asphalting work is in progress. All vehicular traffic will be rerouted to designated alternative roads during this period.
Alternative Routes Announced
Traffic has been diverted as follows:
1. During asphalting on the Morgaon–Murti Road:
Vehicles will be redirected via Morgaon – Loni Patti – Loni Bhapkar – Peshwe Vasti (Korahale Budruk) – Karanje Bridge – Someshwarnagar.
2. During work on the Murti–Choudharwadi Phata stretch:
Traffic will move through Murti – Waki – Karanje – Someshwarnagar.
3. During asphalting on the Choudharwadi Phata–Nira Road:
Vehicles will be diverted via Choudharwadi Phata – Karanje – Someshwar.
Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with the temporary arrangements and plan their commute accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the event period.
