Pune: Traffic Diversions Announced Near Market Yard for Swargate-Katraj Metro Work
Pune, 21st October 2026: Traffic diversions have been announced in the Market Yard area to ease congestion amid ongoing construction of the underground metro line between Swargate and Katraj, the Pune traffic police said.
Vehicles travelling from Upper Bibwewadi via Chandralok Chowk towards Pushpamangal Chowk will not be allowed to turn right towards Swargate, Market Yard and Utsav Hotel. Commuters must turn left, take a U-turn near the Aranyeshwar bus stop via the stretch opposite the Tanishq showroom, and proceed towards Swargate.
Traffic from Swargate via Pune-Satara Road, as well as vehicles travelling from Market Yard towards Satara, Katraj and Bibwewadi, will be diverted through Pushpamangal Chowk via the stretches near Wellness Medical Store and Bhapkar petrol pump, towards Katraj and Upper Bibwewadi.
Vehicles approaching Pushpamangal Chowk will not be allowed to turn right towards Market Yard and Utsav Hotel Chowk. Similarly, vehicles travelling from Market Yard towards Swargate will not be permitted to turn right at Utsav Hotel Chowk.
The traffic police have advised motorists coming from Market Yard to reach their destinations via Vakharia Corporation Chowk or take a U-turn at Pushpamangal Chowk near the Tanishq showroom and Aranyeshwar bus stop. Commuters can also use Vakharia Corporation Chowk to reach their destinations.
