Pune Traffic Police Give Rs 1.05 Lakh in Rewards to Citizens Reporting Violations
Pune, 24th August 2026: The Pune City Traffic Police have honoured citizens who actively reported traffic rule violations through the Pune Traffic Police (PTP) app, as part of an initiative aimed at improving traffic discipline and road safety in the city.
Citizens have been encouraged to use the PTP app to report vehicles allegedly violating traffic rules. The traffic police said increased public participation can help strengthen enforcement and improve coordination between citizens and the police.
Five citizens who reported the highest number of traffic violations in April were selected for recognition. The winners received cash prizes as follows:
First prize: Rs 50,000
Second prize: Rs 25,000
Third prize: Rs 15,000
Fourth prize: Rs 10,000
Fifth prize: Rs 5,000
The prize money was distributed to the winners through cheques facilitated by PPCR. The citizens were also presented with certificates of appreciation by PPCR and the Pune Police for their participation.

The awards and certificates were presented by Manoj Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police, Eastern Regional Division, Pune City, during a felicitation ceremony.
The Pune City Traffic Police said active citizen participation is an important component of improving traffic management and road safety. The PTP app provides a platform for citizens to share information about traffic violations with the police, helping authorities take action against violations.
The traffic police have appealed to citizens to follow traffic rules and report violations noticed on city roads through the PTP app.
“Citizen participation is the foundation of a safer and more disciplined traffic system,” the traffic police said.
