Wanowrie, 22nd June 2026: Quick action by the Wanowrie Traffic Police ensured that a NEET aspirant reached her examination centre on time after she mistakenly arrived at the wrong venue on Sunday morning.

The incident took place during the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), when traffic personnel were deployed at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya in Lullanagar for security and traffic management duties.

Officers on duty noticed a woman and a young student visibly distressed while searching for transportation near the school premises. On approaching them, police learned that Rohini Nilesh Jagtap and her daughter, Samruddhi Nilesh Jagtap, residents of Kenjal village in Wai taluka of Satara district, had travelled to Pune for the examination.

The duo had reached PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya in Lullanagar under the impression that it was the designated examination centre. However, they later realised that Samruddhi’s actual exam venue was PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Southern Command, located in Camp, several kilometres away.

With the examination centre’s entry gates scheduled to close in just five minutes, the mother and daughter were left scrambling for immediate assistance.

Recognising the urgency of the situation, Police Sub-Inspector Atul Kshirsagar of the Wanowrie Traffic Division coordinated a swift response. Police driver Namdev Bandgar escorted the candidate and her mother in the division’s Peter Mobile patrol vehicle.

Using the vehicle’s siren and navigating through traffic, the police team reached the Southern Command examination centre within minutes, allowing Samruddhi to enter the premises before the deadline and appear for the examination.
