Pune: Tragic End To Wedding Plans, Young Couple Dies By Suicide
Yerwada, 18th March 2023: A young woman’s suicide in Kalyaninagar has led to a tragic chain of events. The woman, identified as Asmita Parashuram Dhotre, jumped from a building on March 14, and her fiance also died by suicide in the Kharalwadi area of Pimpri upon hearing the news.
The Yerwada police station has registered a case against three individuals – Johnny Kurian, Rajesh Kamble, and Janak Shahi – who were allegedly responsible for Asmita’s suicide.
As per reports, there was a transaction of money between the accused and Asmita. According to her mother Vimal Parasuram Dhotre, the accused were demanding money and this led to her daughter’s suicide.
Asmita was a resident of the Kharalwadi area of Pimpri and was supposed to get married the next month. On March 14, she went to meet her friends in the Kalyaninagar area and jumped from a building, leading to her death. The news of her suicide devastated her fiance, who also ended his life.
The Yerwada police have initiated an investigation into the case and registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the law. The incident has left the families of both the deceased in a state of shock and grief. They had staged a protest demanding action against the accused.
