Pune: Transport Drivers Await Decision Following Meeting With Government Tonight

Pune, 2nd January 2024: In a significant development, a national-level zoom meeting of transporters across the country and the state took place today. The meeting, presided over by various transport associations, including AIMTC, discussed the ongoing issues faced by drivers and owners in the transport sector. Notably, AIMTC and the transporters association have been invited for a meeting at 7 pm to participate in the central cabinet meeting.

Baba Shinde, the State President of the Maharashtra State Vehicle Drivers-Owners and Representatives Federation, issued a press note, declaring this meeting as the first victory of the ongoing agitation initiated by drivers in the country and the state since yesterday. The transporters eagerly await a decision, anticipated to be announced by 9:00 PM.

Throughout the day, a substantial number of drivers have actively participated in protests staged across various locations in the country and the state. Their collective voice aims to draw attention to the concerns and grievances of the transport community.
