Pune: Twelve Teams Set For Inaugural Major Shashi Cup In District Level Volleyball Tournament
Pune, 18th March 2022: Twelve clubs from the city will face-off in the inaugural Major Shashi Cup Invitational District-Level volleyball tournament, which begins at the Shivaji Uday Mandal, Chinchwad on Saturday, 19th March 2022.
The tournament is being held under the aegis of Poona District Volleyball Association (PDVA) and organized by Acumen Sports Academy in association with Aspire India in memory of martyr Late. Major. Shashidharan Nair.
The tournament will be played on a league-cum-knock out basis.
Participating teams have been divided into four groups of three teams each, with the top team from each group qualifying for the semi-finals.
Group stage matches will be played on Saturday and knockouts on Sunday.
The winners will receive a cash prize of Rs. 11,000 and runners up Rs. 8,000 apart from trophies.

Group A: Deccan Gymkhana ‘A’, MVSC, Balewadi Strikers
Group B: DW Sports, Dehu XI, Navjeevan Sports Foundation
Group C: NDA Volleyball, Maval Spikers, Khadakwasla Volleyball Club
Group D: Fattechand Boys, Deccan Gymkhana ‘B’, City Pride Volleyball
