Pune: Two Arrested For Using UPI Of Mechanic To Steal Money
Pune, 23rd December 2022: Two men from Kalewadi were detained by the Wakad police on Thursday on suspicion of robbing a 30-year-old home appliance mechanic of Rs 6,500 and then forcing him to disclose his UPI account PIN to make transactions of Rs 6,000.

A third suspect is missing and on the run. The Wakad police team, led by assistant inspector Anil Lohar, seized clothings worth Rs 4,800 that the two had purchased with the victim’s UPI account.
One of the two arrested has been identified by the police as Pawan Jadhav. According to Lohar, the 30-year-old complainant was in Kalewadi on the evening of 19th December when Jadhav and his two companions stopped him and demanded money.
According to the complainant, they thrashed him, stole Rs 6,500 and his mobile, and made him divulge the PIN for his UPI to defraud him of an additional Rs 6,000.
