Pune: Two Killed, Several Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident at Uruli Kanchan
Pune, 3rd July 2025: A tragic road accident late Wednesday night claimed the lives of two individuals and left several others injured in Uruli Kanchan, Pune. The incident occurred around 11 PM at Talwadi Chowk on the Pune-Solapur Highway when a speeding tempo lost control and rammed into a group of people waiting for a bus.
The deceased have been identified as Mehboob Miyade (63), a resident of Daund, and Ashok Bhimrao (25), a resident of Karnataka. Among the injured are Laxman Bharti (61) of Uruli Kanchan, Vaishali and Bhagwat Bansode (both 40) from Sortapwadi, and Mainudin Tamboli (67) of Daund. The injured are currently receiving treatment at a private hospital.
According to the complaint filed by Zamin Miyade (33), a resident of Daund, the victims were standing by the roadside waiting for a bus when the tempo, driven recklessly, veered off the main road and ploughed into them. The driver fled the scene without stopping, making it a hit-and-run case.
Uruli Kanchan Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the absconding driver.
