Pune: Two More Arrested in Vanraj Andekar Murder Case; Eight Pistols and 13 Cartridges Seized
Nana Peth, 12th September 2024: The Crime Branch has arrested two more individuals involved in the murder of former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator Vanraj Andekar. A total of 21 people, including three minors, have been detained in connection with the case. Authorities have seized eight pistols, 13 cartridges, seven two-wheelers, and a motor from the accused.
The key facilitators in the case, including Somnath Gaikwad, Shubham Dahibate, Andekar’s sister Sanjivani Komkar, her husband Prakash, and her brother-in-law Ganesh, have already been arrested. In addition, the accused Sangam Waghmare, who supplied the koyta (a sharp weapon) and the pistol used in the crime, was recently apprehended.
The latest arrests involved Sagar Pawar and Sahil Dalvi, who had been absconding. They were caught late at night by the Unit One Crime Branch and the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC).
