Pune: Unauthorized Aadhaar Card Centre in Wagholi
Wagholi, 11th March 2025: Haveli Tehsildar Trupti Kolte conducted raids on a Shiv Bhojan Thali centre and an unauthorized Aadhaar card centre in Wagholi-Perne Phata, taking action against both for irregularities.
During the operation, officials raided a Shiv Bhojan Thali centre operated by the Sangharsh Mahila Self-Help Group in Perne. However, the centre had a private mess board displayed, and customers were being charged more than the government-approved rate. The facility, designed to accommodate 50 people, had only three to four tables, and its CCTV system was not functioning properly.
Additionally, based on a complaint from the Perne Gram Panchayat to the District Collector, authorities raided an unauthorized Aadhaar card centre operating from Shriraj Cyber Cafe. The Aadhaar centre was registered under a different name and address.
During the raid, Sagar Shingane was present at the Aadhaar centre but refused to provide information. Officials seized all machines, laptops, and other equipment from the premises.
Commenting on the action, Tehsildar Trupti Kolte stated, “The seized machines will be deposited at the District Collector’s Office. We will investigate and verify the Aadhaar cards issued from this centre.”
The raid was carried out by officials from the Revenue Department and Gram Panchayat employees.
