Pune: Undri Residents To Protest Excessive Property Tax
Undri, 18th December 2022: Undri village residents have banded together in protest of the excessive property tax bills. The demonstration will take place on 20th December at 10 AM at the Hanuman Mandir Chowk, located near the Undri Gaon Bus Stop.
The Undri Gaon Sangharsh Samiti has organised the demonstration. A committee was constituted for the 11 newly merged villages under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limits following a meeting with Vikram Kumar, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation, to address property tax issues. On Tuesday and Thursday from 11 AM to 2 PM, representatives from the property tax department will be available to address any problems with property taxes.
The protest is being organised by members of all parties, according to Rajendra Bhintade, an Undri-based member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to Swati Takle, the leader of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) from Undri, “We recently met with former state minister Vijay Shivtare, and PMC decided to establish a committee to investigate property tax concerns. Every Tuesday and Thursday between 11 AM and 2 PM, residents can use this amenity located inside PMC headquarters.”
