Pune University Chowk Flyover: To Speed Up Work, MLA Shirole Seeks Meeting Of Chief Minister With PMC, PMRDA, and Traffic Police

Shivajinagar, 10th March 2023: To speed up the work of Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk and complete it by the end of the year, MLA Siddharth Shirole has urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), PMRDA, Traffic Police, and other departments to convene a special meeting under the chairmanship of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The proposed flyover bridge at University Chowk is critical, and its progress is necessary to ease traffic congestion on the University road. The traffic police department, along with other stakeholders, is currently striving to make traffic smooth, but with limited success. The use of advanced technology may help reduce the duration of flyover bridge construction, and a report on this is awaited.
Once the flyover is ready, most of the traffic problems on the Pune University road will be resolved, according to the MLA. Commuting during peak traffic from Shivajinagar to Baner currently takes one to two and a half hours, and the traffic condition in the Aundh section also has a significant impact.
MLA Shirole’s request was positively received by Chief Minister Shinde, who assured him that meetings would be held soon to address this issue.
