Baner, 17th December 2023: Since its inception in 2006, the Vasundhara Abhiyan NGO has been at the forefront of sapling conservation and survival, making significant contributions to the ecological landscape of Baner Tukaii Hill.

Over the years, Vasundhara has successfully planted and sustained more than 45,000 saplings. The organization has also spearheaded water conservation efforts, including the implementation of the Continuous Contour Trenching (CCT) technique, capable of saving lakhs of liters of rainwater annually.

Recognizing the commendable efforts, the Maharashtra government bestowed the prestigious Sri Shiv Chhatrapati Vanasree Puraskar upon Vasundhara Abhiyan. The green initiatives led by Vasundhara serve as a role model for the next generation, promoting environmental consciousness and sustainable practices.

To showcase these green activities and foster a sense of environmental stewardship, Vasundhara Abhiyan organizes an annual drawing competition on the picturesque hillsides. This unique event, held in the lap of nature, aims to engage young minds and instill a love for the environment.

On the 17th of December, a Sunday, the serene hills of Baner Tukaii witnessed the vibrant colors and creativity of almost 850 students from around 20 neighboring schools. The drawing competition, a much-anticipated event, saw enthusiastic participation from small kids who reveled in expressing their artistic talents amidst the greenery meticulously cultivated by Vasundhara.

The Vasundhara team, known for its efficient event management, ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. As the artistic endeavors unfolded, the picturesque backdrop of the Vasundhara-made jungle provided an inspiring setting for the budding artists.

In a heartwarming gesture, Vasundhara Abhiyan recognized the artistic achievements of the participants by awarding the winners with Vasundhara mementos. The awards not only celebrate the creative prowess of the young artists but also serve as a token of appreciation for their commitment to environmental awareness.

The drawing competition not only highlights the artistic talents of the youth but also reinforces the importance of environmental conservation in their minds. By fostering a connection with nature through creative expression, Vasundhara Abhiyan continues to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
