Pune: Vidya Valley School Dominates Under-16, 14, and 12 Categories in Loyola Football Cup
Pune, 22st July 2023: Host’s Loyola High School and Vidya Valley School impressed with easy wins over their respective opponents in the Loyola Football Cup powered by Tata Autocomp at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan here on Monday.
The tournament, organised by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAN) and Loyola High School, Pune saw Loyola H.S record two wins over PICT Model School, while Vidya Valley School did well to log wins in all the three (Under-16, 14 and 12) sections.
The Under-16 section had Loyola H.S rule the roost with a facile 8-2 win over PICT Model School which was powered by the Vedants’ who together netted three goals each. Opening the day’s proceedings was Vedant Gupta (7th, 21st, 23rd) before his namesake Vedant Kamble (22nd, 38th, 53rd) took over. The other strikes came from Atharv Sonawane (29th) and Lavya Asrani (42nd).
PICT Model School had the distinction of scoring first in the match when Anmay Singh (6th) netted, before adding another in the 1th minute and cut the margin of defeat.
Earlier, in the Under-14 section, a brace by Aryavardhan Kakade (13th, 22nd) led Loyola H.S to a 3-0 win over PICT Model School. The third goal came from Adiraj Singh (41st).
In the afternoon session, it was Vidya Valley School who stood out.
In the Under-16 category, Vidya Valley School recorded a 6-0 win over St. Patricks H.S. Nimesh Pathak (9th, 20th, 46th) led the way, while Shaunak Chouta (19th, 54th) and Atharva Singh (27th) accounted for the tally.
Later, in the Under-14 section, Vidya Valley School made short work of St Patrick’s H.S 5-2, while in the Under-12 category they downed St. Patrick’s H.S 6-0
