Pune: Water Supply Disrupted In Swargate, Bibvewadi, Sahakarnagar, Market Yard Areas
Pune, 27th December 2022: The water supply of the southern part of Pune including the Sahakarnagar area has been disrupted due to the mismanagement of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Electricity Department and Water Supply Department.
For the last three days, many parts of South Pune are not getting water. After complaining to the Municipal Corporation in this regard, the Electricity Department and the Water Supply Department are pointing fingers at each other. However, due to insufficient water supply, it is time for citizens to buy water.
The residents of Parvati Darshan, Laxmi Nagar, Sahakar Nagar, Aranyeshwar, Sambhaji Nagar, Taljai area, Bibvewadi area, and Market Yard area are facing disturbing water supply for the last three days. Former corporator Ashwini Kadam informed that the officials have been instructed to solve the problem as soon as possible.
The former local corporators were informed by the local water supply department that there will be no water supply to Sahakarnagar and other areas on Saturday (December 24) due to a technical failure in the electricity supply and the water supply will be started again after the completion of this work by Saturday night.
However, insufficient water supply continues from Saturday to Tuesday. Hundreds of complaints have been made by the citizens that water is being supplied only for a few minutes. Electricity Department and Water Supply Department are shifting the responsibility for insufficient water supply to each other. However, it is affecting the citizens. Citizens have to run for water and now the time has come for them to buy water.
