Pune Weather Alert: IMD Issues Thunderstorm Warning With Gusty Winds and Rain
Pune, 23rd May 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai has issued a nowcast warning predicting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and moderate rainfall across several districts of Maharashtra in the next few hours.
According to the alert issued at 7:30 PM (IST), isolated areas in the districts of Nanded, Latur, Solapur, Hingoli, Parbhani, Pune, and Ratnagiri are likely to experience thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph, along with moderate rain and lightning over the next 3 to 4 hours.
The IMD has advised residents in these areas to take necessary precautions while venturing outdoors and to stay alert for possible disruptions due to strong winds and lightning activity.
