Pune: Why PMPML Buses Are Not Climbing Gangadham Hill — Passengers Forced to Walk
Pune, 19th October 2025: Commuters traveling between Pune Station and Katraj are facing severe inconvenience as PMPML buses are reportedly not plying up the Gangadham hill stretch. Passengers are being forced to get off the bus midway and continue their journey on foot despite having valid tickets.
According to locals, buses on this route often stop before climbing the Gangadham hill, compelling passengers—including senior citizens, pregnant women, and daily commuters—to walk the steep incline. The issue has persisted for several days, causing widespread frustration among regular travelers.
Residents have questioned why PMPML continues to issue tickets for the full route when buses are not completing the journey. “It is extremely difficult for elderly passengers and pregnant women to walk this stretch, especially in the heat,” said one commuter.

Citizens have urged PMPML authorities to immediately address the issue and resume full bus service on the Gangadham route to ensure passenger safety and convenience.
