Pune, 2nd February 2023: Funds have been received from the Maharashtra State Government for the land acquisition of Ring Road, West around Pune city. The administration has again called for land documents and applications from the landowners and farmers in West Haveli. Due to this, the land acquisition process is likely to be delayed. If the fund of Rs 3,100 crores is not distributed by the end of March, it is likely to go back.

The fund was approved in the cabinet meeting on August 26, 2021, for the land acquisition of Ring Road on East and West routes to reduce traffic congestion in the city. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and the Collectorate had decided to implement the land acquisition process for the Ring Road on the lines of the Samriddhi Highway.

The notification was also issued regarding double compensation to land owners for land acquisition. Joint census of land between villages completed for land acquisition of Ring Road West. Landowners also gave documents to the administration. However, some farmers have complained about asking for documents and applications again. Due to this, it is predicted that the process of land acquisition may get delayed. As a result, if the funds received do not reach the farmers, it is likely to go back.
