Pune: Woman Allegedly Raped After Being Given Spiked Drink By Lawyer And Businessman
Pune, 2nd April 2023: The Lonikand police have registered a case against a businessman and a lawyer for allegedly drugging and raping a young woman. The accused have been identified as Vikram Bhate (age 34) and Vaibhav Shinde (age 34).
The victim, who knew Bhate and Shinde, filed a complaint at the Lonikand police station. According to the complaint, the accused had visited the victim’s house and given her a soft drink laced with a sedative. After she fell unconscious, they allegedly raped her and filmed the act using a mobile phone camera.
The accused continued to threaten and intimidate the victim, and even forced her to have physical relations with another person. The victim finally reported the incident to the police due to the continued threats and harassment.
The complaint filed by the victim alleges rape, intimidation, and unnatural acts. The case is being investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Godse.
