Pune: Woman Dies After Falling from 8th Floor of Residential Building, Police Suspect Suicide
Talegaon, 11th May 2026: A 35-year-old woman lost her life after falling from the eighth floor of a residential building in the Talegaon MIDC area of Pune district on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred around 1.30 pm at Urban Life Society located in Katvi village in Maval taluka.
According to Talegaon MIDC police, the woman was seen clinging to the railing of an eighth-floor balcony for several minutes before losing her grip and falling. Residents present at the spot allegedly attempted to help her, but she fell before any rescue could be carried out.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on multiple social media platforms.
Senior Police Inspector Santosh Patil from Talegaon MIDC Police Station said preliminary findings suggest the possibility of suicide, though the exact circumstances behind the incident are still under investigation.
“We have registered an accidental death case and further investigation is underway,” Patil said.
The woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital after the fall, where doctors declared her dead during treatment.
