Pune: Woman Duped of Rs 43.31 Lakh in Online Task Scam in Hinjawadi

Hinjawadi, 27th June 2025: A 45-year-old woman from Hinjawadi was allegedly duped of ₹43.31 lakh by fraudsters who lured her into an online job scam under the pretext of completing paid tasks. The incident took place between 12th March and 8th April. A case has now been registered at the Hinjawadi Police Station against multiple bank account holders, including three women.

According to the police, the complainant was searching for online job opportunities when the accused contacted her through Telegram, posing as agents of a company named Kapish Gold Jewellery. They sent her a link and asked her to invest money to complete online tasks. Initially, she received small returns, which helped gain her trust.

However, the accused allegedly coerced her into investing a total of ₹43,31,336. After receiving the amount, they neither returned the money nor responded further, thereby committing financial fraud.

The woman filed a formal complaint on 26th June, and the police are currently investigating the matter.
