Pune: Woman Molested At Pub In Koregaon Park, Case Filed Against Accused
Koregaon Park, 1st April 2024: A young woman attending a party with her friend found herself subjected to molestation at Hotel Plunge – Lounge & Nightlife in Koregaon Park, Pune.
The incident took place on Sunday night, approximately around 1:20 AM, within the premises of Hotel Plunge, leading to the filing of a case at the Koregaon Park Police Station.
Based on a complaint from a 29-year-old woman from Undri, an FIR has been registered against a 45-year-old resident of Wadgaon Sheri. The accused has been booked for offences under sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to the complainant, she was attending the party accompanied by her friend when they encountered the accused, a former acquaintance of her friend. However, what began as a casual interaction swiftly turned distressing as he allegedly resorted to hurling abusive and obscene language towards the young woman. His disparaging remarks escalated into physical aggression, as he allegedly pushed her while making lewd gestures, leading her to assert that she had been molested.
The accused reportedly issued threats, warning the complainant about her journey home.
Police Sub-Inspector Ashwini Bhosale is further investigating the case.
