Pune: Woman Robbed of Rs 80,000 Gold Necklace After Accepting Lift on Jejuri–Uruli Kanchan Road
Pune, 21st November 2025: A 55-year-old woman was robbed of her gold necklace worth ₹80,000 after three individuals in a four-wheeler allegedly offered her a lift and then forcibly snatched her jewellery. The incident occurred on Thursday (November 20) between 5 pm and 5:30 pm near Kamthe Bus Stop, towards Kale Shivar, on the Jejuri–Uruli Kanchan Road in Shindavane, Haveli taluka.
The victim, Nirmala Dilip Shirke, a resident of Kamthe Mala in Shindavane, lodged a complaint at the Uruli Kanchan Police Station. She stated that she was waiting for transport when a black car stopped near her. The vehicle was occupied by an unknown man and two unknown women, who offered her a lift.
Once inside the car, the two women allegedly grabbed and pulled off her gold mangalsutra, a black-beaded chain with a gold pendant weighing around 9 grams. The suspects fled immediately after snatching the ornament.
Shirke told police she could neither identify the trio nor remember the vehicle’s registration number due to the suddenness of the incident.
A case has been registered against the unidentified suspects under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police constable Prashant Pawar has been assigned to investigate the matter and is verifying CCTV footage and possible leads in the area.
